nan swift dixit:
is werner-michael kulicke the king of self-referencing? a paper he published in the year 2000 suggests that maybe, just maybe, he is. when scientists write a paper, they usually include a list of other papers that played a part in their thinking. this list is supposed to give credit where credit is due. some scientists are overly shy about referencing other papers that they themselves have written. other scientists are not so very shy.the challenge: if you know of a published academic study that surpasses werner-michael kulicke’s record of including 23 self-references, please send us a copy.
following the challenge (in air 12:4, p. 12) to find a published academic study that surpasses dr. w.-m. kulickle’s record of 23 self-references, here is an article recently published by the economics nobel prize wiener [sic] j.j. heckman, in which i counted more than 30 self-references.although i am convinced that this is not a world record, i believe it sets new standards in this area. with best regards, [name withheld by request]
ps: professor j.j. heckman is notorious for his bad temper. so, please do not reveal your sources on this one.
